Clarins Tonic Body Treatment Oil Review

Many moons ago I was a Clarins beauty therapist. It was actually the first job I had after college, I would travel around the West End providing facials and massages for the ladies who lunch. All in all the job was pretty good, I met some lovely girls and I got to play with all the new launches which was thoroughly enjoyable.

After I changed career I really missed all of the free luxury products I used to get my hands on, so when my cousin treated me to a bottle of the Tonic oil I was beside myself excited. The smell of rosemary, geranium and mint alone brings back so many great memories of working in the spa as well as the product being tipped as one of the best on the market for preventing stretch marks - the timing to receive this again was perfect.

This firming body oil is a best seller, it uses 100% pure plant extracts to improve the elasticity in the skin, smooth your skin tone and of course help to prevent stretch marks. I must stress this isn't a pregnancy product, everyone can benefit from this body oil. It is especially good if you are part of a weight loss program as the natural ingredients will help ready the skin for any changes.

You can use this product in several ways, my favourite is to pour a couple of drops in as you run a warm bath. The water feels softer on your skin and the aroma fills the bathroom transporting you into a relaxing spa environment, this instantly puts me in a good mood. The oil is absorbed fairly quickly into the skin so you can also smooth it across your stomach, thighs, upper arms (any problem areas) after you get out of the shower or bath. If you are feeling particularly indulgent you and your partner can even use it as super relaxing massage oil, who would like a massage at the end of the week? Hands up!!

The cost of this product is £40 which is fairly hefty however a little does go a very long way so if you did want to invest in a body oil I wouldn't let the price tag put you off. I am planning to have this in my hospital bag for when I go into labour, I know the smell of it alone will focus my mind into a much calmer space! Next time you are near a Clarins counter be sure to have a sniff, you won't be disappointed.

Have you tried this product? Tell me what you think!

  1. I love Clarins! I bought the body lift cellulite control to get rid of early cellulite and to firm my skin. My mum believes that it doesn't work but you don't know until you try, right? Anyway, it works for me. This product also looks and sounds great too. Although... I doubt that my boyfriend would give me a massage x

  2. I never knew you worked in Clarins! I've never tried their body oil but I do love their facial oil so I can imagine I would love this too! Putting it in your hospital bag is a great idea - hopefully it'll help relax and calm you!
