ITS HERE: The Naked Heat Palette

Naked Heat is here and it has set the beauty world on fire!! Twitter was blowing up when the pre sale launched everyone wanted to get their hands on the 12 brand new urban decay colours. And when the eyeshadows are as beautiful as these you can understand why!

In true Urban Decay style the shadows are as smooth as velvet, the pigment pay off is up to the normal high standard and they blend like a dream. I am always a massive fan of warm shades so as soon as I saw this palette I knew I had to add it to the family. In my opinion the packaging is beautiful, I much prefer it to past naked palettes. The full size mirror is a happy bonus, especially if you are packing the palette for a holiday, and of course the Urban Decay brush is there as standard. I must admit I do not use the brush in my every day make up routine but it isn't the worst palette brush I have ever encountered.

The 12 new shades are a happy mixture of mattes and shimmers. On first glimpse I was slightly disappointed as three of the shimmer shades (Lumbre, Dirty Talk & Scorcher) looked worryingly similar in the pan. However you can see from the swatches that in reality this is not the case.
Out of the two 'base' shades chaser is actually much darker than it looks in the pan, it is more of a crease blending shade than an all over the lid base. But this is all part of the fun with getting to know a new palette so no complaints from me. I have only used the palette a handful of times but on first inspection my favourite of all 12 is He Devil which is a warm red toned matte shade.

I can definitely see myself using this palette all through the summer and into autumn too. The only thing missing for me is a matte black for eyeliner, otherwise I wouldn't need to pack any alternative palettes for my upcoming weekend away.

If this is the palette of your dreams you can pick one up from the 27th July!
Will you be joining the que?

  1. Orange toned eyeshadows are so 'in' at the moment so I can definitely see why UD decided to launch this palette. I've heard so many amazing things about it, but your review has really made me wish I hadn't quit the day job - I need this in my life!!
