L'Oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask Review

After falling in love with the L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay hair masque I just knew as soon as I saw it I had to try the Pure Clay Detox Mask - no doubt about it.

The first thing I will say is this is not a mask that you should try for the first time when you have forgotten you have a wedding reception to attend in a couple of days - oops!! The black charcoal acts as a magnet and draws out all of your skin's hidden dirt and grime, and boy does it. On waking up the next morning I was greeted by a couple of new friends that had obviously been comfortably hibernating under my epidermis.

Initially the pot seems small, on receiving this product I was dubious on how many applications I would manage to achieve. However the consistency is rich and creamy which certainly helps the product spread a very long way. You are advised to leave the product on the skin for around 5 - 10 minutes, I must confess Celebrity Big Brother did distract me and I ended up leaving it for quite a bit longer. It is easy to see when the product has dried as the colour changes from dark grey to a much lighter shade. I had absolutely no problems removing the mask with lukewarm water and a flannel, and trust me mine was well and truly dry.

On removal the Pure Clay Detox Mask left my skin feeling firm and baby soft, it's actually so hard to stop touching your face afterwards. (Not the best idea if you want clear skin I know)

The Detox Mask is part of a set of three facial masks launched by L'oreal. You can also get your hands on the Purity Mask which is enriched with eucalyptus working deep into your pores to leave your skin feeling mattified and refreshed. Or the Glow Mask which contains red algae, known for its brightening properties. Really the dream is to have all three just sitting pretty on your bathroom shelf ready for a bespoke pampering treat whenever you feel the need for a pick me up!

Have you given any of these three masks a try? Let me know what you thought!

  1. This sounds so good! I love a good clay mask, it really does just bring all your impurities to the surface. I'm going to have to keep an eye out for this one the next time I go to Boots!
