Morphy Richards Atomist Review - Are you an iron (wo)man?

When I received an email asking if I was the next Iron (Wo)Man I thought definitely not, I had visions of marathons and triathlons neither are something I would be capable of especially at the moment. So when I realised I was actually being asked to review the new Morphy Richards Atomist I was beyond thrilled. Come on fashion bunnies let get that clobber crinkle free!

Once I'd got over the fact that this was the most instagrammable iron I had ever seen (yes it is see through) I started reading about why this is not just any old iron. It uses vapour instead of steam which means no water is needed to generate heat, there are no steam holes which means no limescale making the Atomist easy to keep clean. Fun fact the Atomist uses 80% less water and 75% less energy than a traditional steam iron!!

I decided it was time to give it a test run. The first thing that stood out for me was how light the iron is this is because the water is kept in the base, I am the sort of person that irons their bedsheets so after a huge ironing load like that usually my arm is left feeling like it's taken part in a combat class.
The glass bottom makes it easy for you to guide your iron over the creases being very precise and thorough, this actually helps you finish your ironing pile much quicker in my opinion.
The only gripe I do have with this iron is that is is very tricky to empty the water tank completely, this means you need to be careful how you store your iron so it doesn't leak.

If you would like to purchase your very own atomist vapour iron you can grab a cheeky discount with the code ATO100 and pick one up at the discounted price of £149.99.

  2. This is great! I don't really iron (too lazy), but I do also plan to iron my bedsheets when I finally move out. Like the idea of having a crease-free home haha!! Not only does it sound like it does a great job, but totally agree that it looks the part too.

  3. This iron is amazing haha (can't believe I'm calling an iron amazing?!). It's actually so pretty! Normally irons are huge and bulky and ugly, this is so pretty and oh so insta worthy! Great photos, too!
