Maternity Must Have's

So if you are pregnant, which you probably are if you are reading this, you will know that people are pretty keen on telling you what you must have to help you during pregnancy. I have been pretty strict with my spending over the last six months. During the first part of my pregnancy I didn't want to jinx anything by buying too much, and now I am so close to the end I don't want to buy too much that I won't use. However there are some things I have purchased which have been bloody good and I'm going to tell you about them now :)

1. Maternity Bra - I know everyone's lady lumps behave differently during pregnancy however if you are anything like me yours have quadrupled in size at break neck speed. At 30 weeks I am now on my second round of Maternity bras but boy are they useful. If you invest in anything during your time I would spend a little bit more on super comfy supportive bras, especially if you are suffering with a sore back.

2. Maternity PJs - Ok Ok I realise this seems like a little extravagant, and did I need the ASOS ones covered in avocados ... probably not. But as I am becoming heavier I am spending more time mooching at home than anywhere else. I get in from work and get in my PJs. Comfort is key during the third trimester. You probably could get away with just sizing up your Primark PJs however something about the waistband on proper maternity ones is joyous. I love mine sooo much!

3. Fruit Infused Water Bottle - I picked this up for £4 from Primark in an attempt to drink more water. I am a terrible water drinker, really not a fan and definitely don't drink enough during the day even when I am not pregnant. One of the things my midwife brought up recently was how important it is, especially during this heat we are currently having in England, that I do not let myself get dehydrated. Fruit Juice I like however fruit does not agree with me during pregnancy, even as like as a hand full of raspberries has left me with my head down the toilet, so this seemed like the perfect solution. I chop up a bit of lemon and lime and leave the water in the fridge over night to get super cold. So far it is definitely helping me increase my intake, and was such a bargain.

4. A Good Pair of Maternity Jeans - It may just be me that feels like way (please tell me if you agree) but when I am out in public alone I feel quite vulnerable with my bump. I suppose it comes from a protective place, but if I can shield it I will. That being said my maternity jeans and a baggy T-Shirt have been my go to outfit for the majority of my pregnancy. I managed to pick up some from ASOS in a skinny style with a ripped knee that don't look mumsie at all. There really isn't enough 'trendy' maternity wear on the market that doesn't cost a bomb but ASOS do have some great bits.

5. Relaxing Bath Smellies - I am very lucky to have received some wonderfully relaxing bath smellies for my birthday. My friend Alex always picks the best presents (it's the only reason I keep her around haha.) At the moment the bath is my sanctuary, it is the only place where my body feels light and somewhat back to its pre-pregnant self so it is important to turn that half an hour two hours a night into your own mini spa. My perfect combination is Neal's Yard Remedies - Mothers Bath Oil which contains skin nourishing essential oils with the Voluspa - Bourbon Vanille candle burning. Perfect!

Let me know what you have been loving this month, even if it isn't pregnancy related :)

  5. Loved this post! If there's something I would add is a upper back massage 😂 I'm now 19 weeks pregnant and my belly is so small so I haven't needed maternity jeans yet. I'm so excited to find out if it's a boy or a girl this friday :-)
