This year it's Fingerlings, a little interactive monkey that comfortably wraps around your finger and blows you kisses. Last year, hatchimals. When I was a kid it was Furby's that the mama's were lining up outside Hamley's hoping to grab. Every year there is a certain colour that is the most desirable, I remember it was the pure white Furby we all wanted and this year of course it is the unicorn Fingerling.

Black Dress, Red Lips
Just a quick little outfit post from me today, perhaps some NYE inspiration who knows!
As I get older I find one of the body parts I am more and more keen to cover up are my arms, I am sure everything was lovely and toned and then as that wedding ring slipped on my finger boom I was middle aged. So this LBD from Pretty Little Thing called out to me, the plunge neck is low enough to be a bit cheeky without being at risk of a possible nip slip.
This Butler & Wilson red lips ring is the perfect fun piece of jewellery to liven up this all black ensemble. The LYDC purse is the perfect size for an evening of drinks, big enough to fit your money, phone and makeup essentials. You will receive a 10% discount if you enter GEMMA10 at check out - Merry Christmas!!
I am spending NYE on the sofa this year, I always feel like the night is such pressure to have a good time and totally over priced... there I am again showing my age! What are you doing this NYE? Do you have an annual tradition? Let me know!

Dinner @ Forest on the Roof
On Friday night I had dinner in a restaurant which can only be described as a santa's grotto for adults. At the very top of Selfridges is this years seasonal pop up restaurant and bar, Forest on the Roof. After making our way to the top of Selfridges we was told we needed to go back down to fragrance to take the express lift up to the restaurant, so maybe take note if you are planning a visit.
When the lift doors opened we were transported to most magically festive setting. Everyone was smiling, staff and customers, it's difficult not to with that many fairy lights around.

It wasn't at all chilly in the restaurant itself however they had you covered just in case, on the back of each chair was a snuggly blanket for you to take advantage of.

Both the food and drinks were delicious, there isn't a great deal of choice on the menu but this is quite common of popup's. Along with our mains we ordered two lots of sides, truffle chips and sweet potato tartiflette which were both to die for. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, it would be the perfect first date setting. The service was very attentive and friendly which makes all the difference.
Thank You Forest on the Roof for having us!

Christmas Dreaming
Today I was going to post some of the Christmas gifts I have purchased so far for my friends this year, as this blog is really my secret project I thought it would be ok as I don't imagine many would stumble across it but then I remembered Kirsti and Alex (I see you both) and they would potentially be having a little stalk so I decided instead to tell you what is on my christmas list so far.
I first saw these on one of my regularly mentioned style inspiration blogs. The Little Magpie, you can read Amy's original post here. I don't usually go for kitten heels but some how these just work. I am always in black boots so the print adds a bit of sass and makes them perfect from day to night, which seems to be the look I try to achieve more and more as I am getting older.
Seeing as I used to get more Clarins stuff for free than I knew what to do with I seriously begrudge paying £43 for this serum.. but.. it is so good, like seriously. At the start of the year I did three weeks and six flights in Australia and I nearly finished the bottle of this I had picked up from duty free. If your skin is in need of a boost in hydration and radiance look no further.
This is my signature scent and always on my Christmas list. I have had lots of Jo Malone Scents over the past couple of years (you can read my collection here) but Blue Agava & Cacao is the first Jo Malone fragrance I was given and will always be my favourite.
This Christmas I am in the market for a seriously snuggly dressing gown, preferably with a hood (yes I do need a hood indoors) I am spending more time that I should probably admit to in my dressing gown these days and my old trusty primark leopard print one is leaving much to be desired right now, definitely time for an upgrade.
5. Zara Bag
I probably don't need a new black bag, but Christmas is about wants right? Recently I invested in a Mulberry Lily bag which I love to pieces however I do not want to be taking it on a night out where drinks and things may get spilt on it, it is very much for best. So this Zara bag will fill the day to night gap in my collection and will be big enough to fit in my blogging camera which these days is a must.
6. Nixon Watch
In the summer I purchased an Olivia Burton watch which I though would become my everyday time piece, however the pastel strap is becoming damaged being worn underneath coats and jumpers. I hope this watch will be a more durable option, my husband has a fair few Nixon watches and they seem to last.
What is on your Christmas list so far? Mine is growing by the minute now I am looking at All Saints leather jackets.... oops
