The Andi Walker Pop Up Experience

If you are a fan of TV's Master Chef you will already know the name Andi Walker. Andi fought his way to the semi-finals in the 2015 rounds of the popular show and now you can experience his food first hand by enjoying a six course tasting menu inspired by local Essex produce. I was lucky enough to be invited down to the Riverside Inn in Chelmsford for a foodie adventure of my own and I can tell you I was not disappointed.

Andi is now showcasing his wealth of experience within the food industry at his pop up restaurant with an ever changing six course menu buzzing with creativity, which will keep you interested for the duration.

Bourgee Airside

As if Southend airport wasn't already the most convenient thing ever (you can now fly to approximately 30 locations) the fact that you can sip on champagne at Bourgee while you await your flight is basically the best thing i've ever heard!

Beef Eater Review

Over the last couple of years I have been fortune enough to be invited to review various restaurants, this is certainly one of the perks to running a blog it would be a lie for me to say it wasn't. I am a huge fan of sampling new food I always like to try as many dishes as possible, my open mind when it comes to food choices is a quality I hope to install in my daughter as she gets old enough to make her own decisions therefore I am always on the look out for child friendly establishments. With strong family values at the forefront of the business the newly refurbished Beefeater in Romford was an obvious choice for a visit.

Bourgee Chelmsford Launch Review

Lobster, Steak & Serious Style

Last Thursday I was one of the lucky ones invited to the launch of the new Bourgee Steak and lobster restaurant in Chelmsford. After the success of Bourgee Southend-on-Sea, Chelmsford was the perfect choice of location to open their flagship site within the city's newly created 'restaurant quarter'. For Bourgee this is only the beginning with new sites already secured in Bury St Edmonds and Norwich the future is looking very bright indeed for Bourgee.

Dinner @ Forest on the Roof

On Friday night I had dinner in a restaurant which can only be described as a santa's grotto for adults. At the very top of Selfridges is this years seasonal pop up restaurant and bar, Forest on the Roof. After making our way to the top of Selfridges we was told we needed to go back down to fragrance to take the express lift up to the restaurant, so maybe take note if you are planning a visit.

When the lift doors opened we were transported to most magically festive setting. Everyone was smiling, staff and customers, it's difficult not to with that many fairy lights around.

Jumper & Boots: Zara Pinafore Dress: Motel Shirt: ASOS

It wasn't at all chilly in the restaurant itself however they had you covered just in case, on the back of each chair was a snuggly blanket for you to take advantage of.

Black Forest, Spicy Cane & Forest Tonic Cocktails

Dry ages burger & Russet apple slaw

Roast Banham chicken, truffle green beans & New Forest mushrooms

Baked game meatballs & winter vegetable orzo

Gingerbread Choctai

Both the food and drinks were delicious, there isn't a great deal of choice on the menu but this is quite common of popup's. Along with our mains we ordered two lots of sides, truffle chips and sweet potato tartiflette which were both to die for. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, it would be the perfect first date setting. The service was very attentive and friendly which makes all the difference.

Thank You Forest on the Roof for having us!
